New bounds on vacuum decay in de Sitter space
Silvia Vicentini
Vacuum decay in de Sitter space is a process of great physical interest, as it allows to rule out cosmological models in the early and current Universe. Its rate may be described i…
Vacuum decay and quadratic gravity: the massive case
Silvia Vicentini, Massimiliano Rinaldi
False vacuum decay in field theory may be formulated as a boundary value problem in Euclidean space. In a previous work, we studied its solution in single scalar field theories wit…
Vacuum decay in quadratic gravity
Silvia Vicentini, Massimiliano Rinaldi
Metastable states decay at zero temperature through quantum tunneling at an exponentially small rate, which depends on the Coleman-de Luccia instanton, also known as bounce. In som…
Regularized Lovelock gravity
Alessandro Casalino, Aimeric Colleaux, Massimiliano Rinaldi +1
A four-dimensional regularization of Lovelock-Lanczos gravity up to an arbitrary curvature order is considered. We show that Lovelock-Lanczos terms can provide a non-trivial contri…
Scale-invariant inflation with one-loop quantum corrections
Silvia Vicentini, Luciano Vanzo, Massimiliano Rinaldi
We study quantum corrections to an inflationary model, which has the attractive feature of being classically scale-invariant. In this model, quadratic gravity plays along a scalar…
