The origin of the mu_e - M_B and Kormendy relations in dwarf elliptical galaxies
A. Boselli, S. Boissier, L. Cortese +1
The present work is aimed at studying the distribution of galaxies of different types and luminosities along different structural scaling relations to see whether massive and dwarf…
Properties and Chemical Evolution of the M31 Disk: Comparison with the Milky Way
J. L. Hou, J. Yin, S. Boissier +3
By adopting the chemical evolution model of the Milky Way disk, we have studied the star formation and chemical evolution history for M31 galaxy disk. We mainly concentrated on the…
GALEX observations of Low Surface Brightness Galaxies: UV color and star formation efficiency
S. Boissier, A. Gil de Paz, A. Boselli +7
We present GALEX UV observations of a sample of Low Surface Brightness (LSB) galaxies for which HI data are available, allowing us to estimate their star formation efficiency. We f…
Spontaneous and Stimulated Star Formation in Galaxies
Barry F. Madore, Samuel Boissier, Armando Gil de Paz +2
We present recent results from several on-going studies: The first addresses the question of gas-density thresholds for star formation, as probed by the outer disks of normal nearb…
