Evaluation of a method for time-of-flight, wavelength and distance calibration for neutron scattering instruments by means of a mini-chopper and standard neutron monitors
L. Vergara, M. Arai, R. Woracek +9
Accurate conversion of neutron time-of-flight (TOF) to wavelength, and its uncertainty, is of fundamental importance to neutron scattering measurements. Especially in cases where i…
Seeking echoes of circumstellar disks in Kepler light curves
Benjamin C. Bromley, Austin Leonard, Amanda Quintanilla +3
Light echoes of flares on active stars offer the opportunity for direct detection of circumstellar dust. We revisit the problem of identifying faint echoes in post-flare light curv…
Parasitic neutron beam monitoring: proof of concept on gamma monitoring of neutron chopper phases
F. Issa, R. Hall-Wilton, A. Quintanilla +4
Neutron beam monitors are an essential diagnostic component of neutron scattering facilities. They are used to measure neutron flux, calibrating experiments performed on the instru…
First neutron data recorded at the V20 Test Instrument utilizing prototype chopper systems and beam monitors planned for ESS
V. Maulerova, J. Nilsson, M. Olsson +16
The main objective of the European Spallation Source (ESS) is to perform consistently high impact neutron scattering science using the highest neutron flux of any facility in its c…
