TheoPhysEval: Assessing AI agents at autonomous theoretical physics problem solving
A. Ramesh Chandra, Aaghaz Mahajan, Ainesh Sanyal +32
We present a suite of 50 unpublished research-level theoretical physics problems with verifiable answers. Without AI assistance, a typical problem in our collection could be solved…
Discrete Gauging of 5d SCFTs
Guillermo Arias-Tamargo, Mario De Marco, Craig Lawrie +2
We study the gauging of discrete symmetries of the 5d rank-one SCFTs that fix the Coulomb branch coordinate but act nontrivially on the Higgs branch chiral ring. Using genera…
Higher anomalies, compressing SPTs and cohomology operations
Shani Nadir Meynet, Elias Riedel Gårding
We explicitly compute and tabulate the suspension map for cohomology operations, applying it to the dimensional reduction of anomalies and higher group structures of generalised sy…
Learning to Trace Seiberg Dualities
Jonathan J. Heckman, Shani Meynet, Alessandro Mininno +1
Dualities play an important role in establishing both microscopic and emergent phenomena in a wide range of physical systems. In practice, though, it can often be computationally c…
Quiver Approach to Symmetry Theories
Vivek Chakrabhavi, Mirjam Cvetič, Jonathan J. Heckman +1
Global symmetry anomalies of a quantum field theory (QFT) can be packaged as specific couplings of a higher-dimensional symmetry theory (SymTh). In this work we show that for 5D su…
