When and where higher-resolution climate data improve impact model performance
Johanna T. Malle, Christopher P. O. Reyer, Yael Amitai +32
Climate impact assessments increasingly rely on high-resolution climate and forcing datasets, under the premise that finer detail enhances both the accuracy and policy relevance of…
Global daily 1km land surface precipitation based on cloud cover-informed downscaling
Dirk Nikolaus Karger, Adam M. Wilson, Colin Mahony +2
High-resolution climatic data are essential to many applications in environmental research. Here we develop a new semi-mechanistic downscaling approach for daily precipitation that…
High resolution monthly precipitation and temperature timeseries for the period 2006-2100
Dirk Nikolaus Karger, Dirk R. Schmatz, Gabriel Dettling +1
Predicting future climatic conditions at high spatial resolution is essential for many applications and impact studies in science. Here, we present monthly time series data on prec…
Climatologies at high resolution for the earth's land surface areas
Dirk Nikolaus Karger, Olaf Conrad, Jürgen Böhner +6
High resolution information on climatic conditions is essential to many applications in environmental and ecological sciences. Here we present the CHELSA Climatologies at high reso…
