Dirac excited state quenching in graphene
Jacky C. Wan, Trevor B. Arp, Nathaniel M. Gabor
Hot, dense phases of Dirac fermions - predicted to resemble relativistic plasma - are uniquely accessible through photoexcitation of pristine, charge neutral graphene. We demonstra…
Intrinsic spin Hall torque in a moire Chern magnet
C. L. Tschirhart, Evgeny Redekop, Lizhong Li +9
In spin torque magnetic memories, electrically actuated spin currents are used to switch a magnetic bit. Typically, these require a multilayer geometry including both a free ferrom…
Stacking enabled strong coupling of atomic motion to interlayer excitons in van der Waals heterojunction photodiodes
Fatemeh Barati, Trevor B. Arp, Shanshan Su +6
We reveal stacking-induced strong coupling between atomic motion and interlayer excitons through photocurrent measurements of WSe/MoSe heterojunction photodiodes. Strong co…
2D condensate of electrons and holes in ultrathin MoTe photocells
Trevor B. Arp, Dennis Pleskot, Vivek Aji +1
The electron-hole liquid, which features a macroscopic population of correlated electrons and holes, may offer a path to room temperature semiconductor devices that harness collect…
