Quantum scattering of hot H/D on CO: Cross sections and rate coefficients for planetary atmospheres and their evolution
Cheikh T. Bop, Marko Gacesa
Collisions between hot hydrogen atoms and CO play a central role in energy transfer and atmospheric escape in CO-rich planetary atmospheres. We present quantum mechanical $…
Energy relaxation in superthermal collisions of carbon with oxygen: the influence of isotopic substitution
Cheikh T. Bop, Marko Gacesa
The transition from a once-dense Martian atmosphere to the thin one observed today implies a substantial loss of carbon, either through atmospheric escape or surface deposition. Ac…
An 18-25 GHz spectroscopic survey of dense cores in the Chamaeleon I molecular cloud
Dariusz C. Lis, William D. Langer, Jorge L. Pineda +9
We extend the survey for organics in the southern hemisphere by observing two cores in the Chamaeleon complex using NASA's Deep Space Network 70-m antenna in Canberra, Australia, o…
Shock-induced HCNH+ abundance enhancement in the heart of the starburst galaxy NGC 253 unveiled by ALCHEMI
Y. Gong, C. Henkel, C. T. Bop +15
Understanding the chemistry of molecular clouds is pivotal to elucidate star formation and galaxy evolution. As one of the important molecular ions, HCNH+ plays an important role i…
