Fabrication-Robust Silicon Photonic Devices in Standard Sub-Micron Silicon-on-Insulator Processes
Anthony Rizzo, Utsav Dave, Asher Novick +5
Perturbations to the effective refractive index from nanometer-scale fabrication variations in waveguide geometry plague high index-contrast photonic platforms including the ubiqui…
Exploiting Ultralow Loss Multimode Waveguides for Broadband Frequency Combs
Xingchen Ji, Jae K. Jang, Utsav D. Dave +4
Low propagation loss in high confinement waveguides is critical for chip-based nonlinear photonics applications. Sophisticated fabrication processes which yield sub-nm roughness ar…
Second Harmonic Generation Enabled by Longitudinal Electric Field Components in Photonic Wire Waveguides
Nicolas Poulvellarie, Utsav Dave, Koen Alexander +10
We investigate type I second harmonic generation in III-V semiconductor wire waveguides aligned with a crystallographic axis. In this direction, because of the single nonzero tenso…
Dispersive wave emission and supercontinuum generation in a silicon wire waveguide pumped around the 1550 nm telecommunication wavelength
François Leo, Simon-Pierre Gorza, Jassem Safioui +5
We experimentally and numerically study dispersive wave emission, soliton fission and supercontinuum generation in a silicon wire at telecommunication wavelengths. Through dispersi…
