The Dynamics of Ions on Phased Radio-frequency Carpets in High Pressure Gases and Application for Barium Tagging in Xenon Gas Time Projection Chambers
NEXT Collaboration, B. J. P. Jones, A. Raymond +107
Radio-frequency (RF) carpets with ultra-fine pitches are examined for ion transport in gases at atmospheric pressures and above. We develop new analytic and computational methods f…
Monte Carlo characterization of PETALO, a full-body liquid xenon-based PET detector
J. Renner, C. Romo-Luque, R. J. Aliaga +24
New detector approaches in Positron Emission Tomography imaging will play an important role in reducing costs, lowering administered radiation doses, and improving overall performa…
PETALO: a Time-of-Flight PET with liquid xenon
Carmen Romo-Luque
Liquid xenon offers several features, which make it suitable for applications in nuclear medicine, such as high scintillation yield and fast scintillation decay time. Moreover, bei…
Boosting background suppression in the NEXT experiment through Richardson-Lucy deconvolution
A. Simón, Y. Ifergan, A. B. Redwine +100
Next-generation neutrinoless double beta decay experiments aim for half-life sensitivities of ~ yr, requiring suppressing backgrounds to <1 count/tonne/yr. For this, any e…
