The first tidal disruption flare in ZTF: from photometric selection to multi-wavelength characterization
Sjoert van Velzen, Suvi Gezari, S. Bradley Cenko +37
We present Zwicky Transient Facility (ZTF) observations of the tidal disruption flare AT2018zr/PS18kh reported by Holoien et al. and detected during ZTF commissioning. The ZTF ligh…
The Fast, Luminous Ultraviolet Transient AT2018cow: Extreme Supernova, or Disruption of a Star by an Intermediate-Mass Black Hole?
Daniel A. Perley, Paolo A. Mazzali, Lin Yan +60
Wide-field optical surveys have begun to uncover large samples of fast (t_rise < 5d), luminous (M_peak < -18), blue transients. While commonly attributed to the breakout of a super…
Population syntheses of millisecond pulsars from the Galactic Disk and Bulge
Peter L. Gonthier, Alice K. Harding, Elizabeth C. Ferrara +3
We present the results of a population synthesis of radio and gamma-ray millisecond pulsars (MSPs) from the Galactic Disk (GD). Using 92 radio millisecond pulsars detected in 13 ra…
X-ray Reverberation Mapping and Dramatic Variability of Seyfert 1 Galaxy 1H 1934-063
Sara E. Frederick, Erin Kara, Christopher S. Reynolds +2
A fraction of active galactic nuclei (AGN) exhibit dramatic variability, which is observed on timescales down to minutes in the X-ray band. We introduce the case study of 1H 1934-0…
