Quasi-periodic Eruptions from Helium Envelope of Hydrogen-deficient Stars Stripped by Supermassive Black Holes
Z. Y. Zhao, Y. Y. Wang, Y. C. Zou +2
Quasi-periodic eruptions (QPEs), which are a new kind of X-ray bursts with a recurrence time of several hours, have been detected from supermassive black holes (SMBHs) in galactic…
Dispersion and Rotation Measures from the Ejecta of Compact Binary Mergers: Clue to the Progenitors of Fast Radio Bursts
Z. Y. Zhao, G. Q. Zhang, Y. Y. Wang +2
Since the discovery of FRB 200428 associated with the Galactic SGR 1935+2154, magnetars are considered to power fast radio bursts (FRBs). It is widely believed that magnetars could…
Fast radio bursts from activities of neutron stars newborn in BNS mergers: offset, birth rate and observational properties
F. Y. Wang, Y. Y. Wang, Yuan-Pei Yang +3
Young neutron stars (NSs) born in core-collapse explosions are promising candidates for the central engines of fast radio bursts (FRBs), since the first localized repeating burst F…
A bright electromagnetic counterpart to extreme mass ratio inspirals
Y. Y. Wang, F. Y. Wang, Y. C. Zou +1
The extreme mass ratio inspiral (EMRI), defined as a stellar-mass compact object inspiraling into a supermassive black hole (SMBH), has been widely argued to be a low-frequency gra…
