Observation of a strong correlation between the positive floating potential near the edge and plasma current on EXL-50 ECW plasma
Mingyuan Wang, Dong Guo, Xin Zhao +12
Fully non-inductive plasma current start-up without the central solenoid in ECW plasma was used on EXL-50 Spherical Torus with a weak external vertical field (Bv). Generally, the n…
Non-inductive plasma current sustainment with stochastic electron cyclotron in EXL-50 spherical torus
Mingyuan Wang, Shikui Cheng, Bing Liu +11
The start-up and sustainment of a stochastic wave non-inductive current on a spherical torus was experimentally demonstrated for the first time using only electron cyclotron waves.…
Solenoid-free current drive via ECRH in EXL-50 spherical torus plasmas
Yuejiang Shi, Bing Liu, Shaodong Song +25
As a new spherical tokamak (ST) designed to simplify engineering requirements of a possible future fusion power source, the EXL-50 experiment features a low aspect ratio (A) vacuum…
Four-Fluid Axisymmetric Plasma Equilibrium Model Including Relativistic Electrons and Computational Method and Results
Akio Ishida, Y. -K. Martin Peng, Wenjun Liu
A non-relativistic multi-fluid plasma axisymmetric equilibrium model was developed recently to account for the presence of an energetic electron fluid in addition to thermal electr…
