CME -Associated Energetic Ions at 0.23 AU -- Consideration of the Auroral Pressure Cooker Mechanism Operating in the Low Corona as a Possible Energization Process
D. G. Mitchell, J. Giacalone, R. C. Allen +15
We draw a comparison between a solar energetic particle event associated with the release of a slow coronal mass ejection close to the sun, and the energetic particle population pr…
Switchbacks in the solar magnetic field: their evolution, their content, and their effects on the plasma, V2
F. S. Mozer1, O. V. Agapitov1, S. D. Bale1 +19
Switchbacks (rotations of the magnetic field) are observed on the Parker Solar Probe. Their evolution, content, and plasma effects are studied in this paper. The solar wind does no…
Ion Scale Electromagnetic Waves in the Inner Heliosphere
Trevor Bowen, Alfred Mallet, Jia Huang +22
Understanding the physical processes in the solar wind and corona which actively contribute to heating, acceleration, and dissipation is a primary objective of NASA's Parker Solar…
Inferring source properties of monoenergetic electron precipitation from kappa and Maxwellian moment-voltage relationships
Spencer Hatch, Jim LaBelle, Chris Chaston
We present two case studies of FAST electrostatic analyzer measurements of both highly nonthermal (~2.5) and weakly nonthermal/thermal monoenergetic electron precipitati…
