Ly forest and the total absorption cross-section of galaxies -- an example of the NTT SUSI Deep Field
Srdjan Samurovic, Milan M. Cirkovic
By extrapolating the accumulated low-redshift data on the absorption radius of galaxies and its luminosity scaling, it is possible to predict the total absorption cross-section of…
On the Ionizing Sources in Spiral Galaxies: II. the Center of the Milky Way
V. Milosevic-Zdjelar, S. Samurovic, M. M. Cirkovic
In this paper we present the ionization in the center of the Galaxy. We use Taylor & Cordes (1993) and Lazio & Cordes (1998) models to obtain the overall contribution of the Galact…
On the Ionizing Sources in Spiral Galaxies: I. From Central Regions to Thick Disk and Disk-Halo Connection
S. Samurovic, M. M. Cirkovic, V. Milosevic-Zdjelar +1
We study the ionizing sources in spiral galaxies and examine in more detail our Galaxy. Using Taylor & Cordes (1993) model we analyze the electron density in different parts of the…
A note on the Milky Way as a barred galaxy
S. Samurovic, V. Milosevic-Zdjelar, M. M. Cirkovic +1
We review recent research on the Milky Way galaxy and try to investigate whether its shape is similar to other barred galaxies. The emphasis is given on microlensing research becau…
