ALCHEMI: an ALMA Comprehensive High-resolution Extragalactic Molecular Inventory. Survey presentation and first results from the ACA array
S. Martín, J. G. Mangum, N. Harada +32
We used the Atacama Large Millimeter/submillimeter Array (ALMA), covering a nearly contiguous 289 GHz frequency range between 84.2 and 373.2 GHz, to image the continuum and spectra…
Local Environments of Low-Redshift Supernovae
Serena A. Cronin, Dyas Utomo, Adam K. Leroy +7
We characterize the local (2-kpc sized) environments of Type Ia, II, and Ib/c supernovae (SNe) that have recently occurred in nearby ( Mpc) galaxies. Using ultraviolet…
Starburst Energy Feedback Seen Through HCO/HOC Emission in NGC 253 from ALCHEMI
Nanase Harada, Sergio Martín, Jeffrey G. Mangum +19
Molecular abundances are sensitive to UV-photon flux and cosmic-ray ionization rate. In starburst environments, the effects of high-energy photons and particles are expected to be…
PHANGS-ALMA: Arcsecond CO(2-1) Imaging of Nearby Star-Forming Galaxies
Adam K. Leroy, Eva Schinnerer, Annie Hughes +69
We present PHANGS-ALMA, the first survey to map CO J=2-1 line emission at ~1" ~ 100pc spatial resolution from a representative sample of 90 nearby (d<~20 Mpc) galaxies that lie on…
