Galaxy sizes in the early Universe
P. Cataldi, S. Pedrosa, L. J. Pellizza +2
We present preliminary results of a study of galaxy sizes at redshift using the high-resolution, zoom-in \textsc{FirstLight} simulations. We obtain a redshift-indepen…
The properties of central stellar knots embedded in galactic bulges of CIELO simulations
Belén Acosta-Tripailao, Patricia B. Tissera, Manuela Zoccali +7
Deeply bound stellar substructures of about 1 kpc at the center of bulges are found in a subset of galaxies from the cosmological chemo-hydrodynamical zoom-in CIELO simulation suit…
Angular momentum evolution in the CIELO simulations. I. Temporal evolution of gas-stellar misalignments and baryonic merger timing
Catalina Casanueva-Villarreal, Patricia B. Tissera, Nelson Padilla +4
Gas-stellar kinematic misalignments trace how galaxies assemble and reorient their angular momentum. Although well documented locally, their continuous evolution remains largely un…
The connection between surface brightness and satellite systems for central galaxies through Illustris TNG
Silvio Rodriguez, Yamila Yaryura, Jose A. Benavides +7
We analyse different properties of central low-surface-brightness galaxies (LSBGs) and their satellite systems using the simulation Illustris TNG-100, in order to deepen our unders…
