Three-dimensional MHD wave propagation near a coronal null point: a new wave mode decomposition approach
N. Yadav, Rony Keppens, B. Popescu Braileanu
We present a new MHD wave decomposition method that overcomes the limitations of existing wave identification methods. Our method allows to investigate the energy fluxes in differe…
Slow magneto-acoustic waves in simulations of a solar plage region carry enough energy to heat the chromosphere
Nitin Yadav, Robert H. Cameron, Sami K. Solanki
We study the properties of slow magneto-acoustic waves that are naturally excited due to turbulent convection and investigate their role in the energy balance of a plage region usi…
Vortex Flow Properties in Simulations of Solar Plage Region: Evidence for their role in chromospheric heating
Nitin Yadav, Robert H. Cameron, Sami K. Solanki
Vortex-flows exist across a broad range of spatial and temporal scales in the solar atmosphere. Small-scale vortices have been proposed to play an important role in energy transpor…
Simulations Show that Vortex Flows could Heat the Chromosphere in Solar Plage
Nitin Yadav, R. H. Cameron, S. K. Solanki
The relationship between vortex flows at different spatial scales and their contribution to the energy balance in the chromosphere is not yet fully understood. We perform three-dim…
