Multi-Messenger Gravitational Wave Searches with Pulsar Timing Arrays: Application to 3C66B Using the NANOGrav 11-year Data Set
Zaven Arzoumanian, Paul T. Baker, Adam Brazier +56
When galaxies merge, the supermassive black holes in their centers may form binaries and, during the process of merger, emit low-frequency gravitational radiation in the process. I…
The NANOGrav 11-Year Data Set: Limits on Gravitational Waves from Individual Supermassive Black Hole Binaries
K. Aggarwal, Z. Arzoumanian, P. T. Baker +60
Observations indicate that nearly all galaxies contain supermassive black holes (SMBHs) at their centers. When galaxies merge, their component black holes form SMBH binaries (SMBHB…
The NANOGrav Nine-year Data Set: Limits on the Isotropic Stochastic Gravitational Wave Background
Zaven Arzoumanian, Adam Brazier, Sarah Burke-Spolaor +45
We compute upper limits on the nanohertz-frequency isotropic stochastic gravitational wave background (GWB) using the 9-year data release from the North American Nanohertz Observat…
NANOGrav Limits on Gravitational Waves from Individual Supermassive Black Hole Binaries in Circular Orbits
Z. Arzoumanian, A. Brazier, S. Burke-Spolaor +36
The North American Nanohertz Observatory for Gravitational Waves (NANOGrav) project currently observes 43 pulsars using the Green Bank and Arecibo radio telescopes. In this work we…
