Circumplanetary disk ices II. Composition
Nickolas Oberg, Stephanie Cazaux, Inga Kamp +3
The subsurface oceans of icy satellites are among the most compelling among the potentially habitable environments in our Solar System. The question of whether a liquid subsurface…
Circumplanetary disk ices. I. Ice formation vs. viscous evolution and grain drift
Nickolas Oberg, Inga Kamp, Stephanie Cazaux +2
The large icy moons of Jupiter formed in a circumplanetary disk (CPD). CPDs are fed by infalling circumstellar gas and dust which may be shock-heated upon accretion or sublimated w…
New Mid-Infrared Imaging Constraints on Companions and Protoplanetary Disks around six Young Stars
D. J. M. Petit dit de la Roche, N. Oberg, M. E. van den Ancker +13
Mid-infrared imaging traces the sub-micron and micron sized dust grains in protoplanetary disks and it offers constraints on the geometrical properties of the disks and potential c…
Photoevaporation of the Jovian circumplanetary disk I. Explaining the orbit of Callisto and the lack of outer regular satellites
N. Oberg, I. Kamp, S. Cazaux +1
Context: The Galilean satellites are thought to have formed from a circumplanetary disk (CPD) surrounding Jupiter. When it reached a critical mass, Jupiter opened an annular gap in…
