An X-Ray Burst from a Magnetar Enlightening the Mechanism of Fast Radio Bursts
M. Tavani, C. Casentini, A. Ursi +60
Fast radio bursts (FRBs) are short (millisecond) radio pulses originating from enigmatic sources at extragalactic distances so far lacking a detection in other energy bands. Magnet…
Gamma-Ray and X-Ray Observations of the Periodic-Repeater FRB 180916 During Active Phases
M. Tavani, F. Verrecchia, C. Casentini +33
FRB 180916 is a most intriguing source at 150 Mpc distance capable of producing repeating fast radio bursts with a periodic 16.35 day temporal pattern. We report on the X-ray and $…
The Northern Cross Fast Radio Burst project. I. Overview and pilot observations at 408 MHz
Nicola T. Locatelli, Gianni Bernardi, Germano Bianchi +8
Fast radio bursts remain one of the most enigmatic astrophysical sources. Observations have significantly progressed over the last few years, thanks to the capabilities of new radi…
The lowest frequency Fast Radio Bursts: Sardinia Radio Telescope detection of the periodic FRB 180916 at 328 MHz
M. Pilia, M. Burgay, A. Possenti +35
We report on the lowest-frequency detection to date of three bursts from the fast radio burst FRB 180916, observed at 328 MHz with the Sardinia Radio Telescope (SRT). The SRT obser…
