Deterministic Bounds in Committee Selection: Enhancing Decentralization and Scalability in Distributed Ledgers
Grigorii Melnikov, Sebastian Müller, Nikita Polyanskii +1
Consensus plays a crucial role in distributed ledger systems, impacting both scalability and decentralization. Many blockchain systems use a weighted lottery based on a scarce reso…
On Fairness in Voting Consensus Protocols
Sebastian Müller, Andreas Penzkofer, Darcy Camargo +1
Voting algorithms have been widely used as consensus protocols in the realization of fault-tolerant systems. These algorithms are best suited for distributed systems of nodes with…
Fast Probabilistic Consensus with Weighted Votes
Sebastian Müller, Andreas Penzkofer, Bartosz Kuśmierz +2
The fast probabilistic consensus (FPC) is a voting consensus protocol that is robust and efficient in Byzantine infrastructure. We propose an adaption of the FPC to a setting where…
Robustness and efficiency of leaderless probabilistic consensus protocols within Byzantine infrastructures
Angelo Capossele, Sebastian Mueller, Andreas Penzkofer
This paper investigates leaderless binary majority consensus protocols with low computational complexity in noisy Byzantine infrastructures. Using computer simulations, we show tha…
