Generating Virtual On-body Accelerometer Data from Virtual Textual Descriptions for Human Activity Recognition
Zikang Leng, Hyeokhyen Kwon, Thomas Plötz
The development of robust, generalized models in human activity recognition (HAR) has been hindered by the scarcity of large-scale, labeled data sets. Recent work has shown that vi…
A Feasibility Study on Indoor Localization and Multi-person Tracking Using Sparsely Distributed Camera Network with Edge Computing
Hyeokhyen Kwon, Chaitra Hegde, Yashar Kiarashi +10
Camera-based activity monitoring systems are becoming an attractive solution for smart building applications with the advances in computer vision and edge computing technologies. I…
Fine-grained Human Activity Recognition Using Virtual On-body Acceleration Data
Zikang Leng, Yash Jain, Hyeokhyen Kwon +1
Previous work has demonstrated that virtual accelerometry data, extracted from videos using cross-modality transfer approaches like IMUTube, is beneficial for training complex and…
IMUTube: Automatic Extraction of Virtual on-body Accelerometry from Video for Human Activity Recognition
Hyeokhyen Kwon, Catherine Tong, Harish Haresamudram +4
The lack of large-scale, labeled data sets impedes progress in developing robust and generalized predictive models for on-body sensor-based human activity recognition (HAR). Labele…
