On horizon structure of bimetric spacetimes
Cédric Deffayet, Ted Jacobson
We discuss the structure of horizons in spacetimes with two metrics, with applications to the Vainshtein mechanism and other examples. We show, without using the field equations, t…
Constraints on Shift-Symmetric Scalar-Tensor Theories with a Vainshtein Mechanism from Bounds on the Time Variation of G
Eugeny Babichev, Cedric Deffayet, Gilles Esposito-Farese
We show that the current bounds on the time variation of the Newton constant G can put severe constraints on many interesting scalar-tensor theories which possess a shift symmetry…
Improving relativistic MOND with Galileon k-mouflage
Eugeny Babichev, Cedric Deffayet, Gilles Esposito-Farese
We propose a simple field theory reproducing the MOND phenomenology at galaxy scale, while predicting negligible deviations from general relativity at small scales thanks to an ext…
Nonlocal metric formulations of MOND with sufficient lensing
Cedric Deffayet, Gilles Esposito-Farese, Richard P. Woodard
We demonstrate how to construct purely metric modifications of gravity which agree with general relativity in the weak field regime appropriate to the solar system, but which posse…
