Asymmetric Magnetic Relaxation behavior of Domains and Domain Walls Observed Through the FeRh First-Order Metamagnetic Phase Transition
Jamie R. Massey, Rowan C. Temple, Trevor P. Almeida +8
The phase coexistence present through a first-order phase transition means there will be finite regions between the two phases where the structure of the system will vary from one…
Real-space imaging of confined magnetic skyrmion tubes
M. T. Birch, D. Cortés-Ortuño, L. A. Turnbull +20
Magnetic skyrmions are topologically nontrivial particles with a potential application as information elements in future spintronic device architectures. While they are commonly po…
Stability and Metastability of Skyrmions in Thin Lamellae of CuOSeO
M. N. Wilson, M. T. Birch, A. Štefančič +6
We report small angle X-ray scattering (SAXS) measurements of the skyrmion lattice in two 200~nm thick CuOSeO lamellae aligned with the applied magnetic field parallel to t…
Magnetoelectric domains and their switching mechanism in a Y-type hexaferrite
Francis P Chmiel, Dharmalingam Prabahakaran, Paul Steadman +4
By employing resonant X-ray microdiffraction, we image the magnetisation and magnetic polarity domains of the Y-type hexaferrite BaSrMgFeO. We sho…
