An in-depth reanalysis of the alleged type Ia supernova progenitor Henize 2-428
N. Reindl, V. Schaffenroth, M. M. Miller Bertolami +5
The nucleus of the planetary nebula Hen2-428 is a short orbital-period (4.2h), double-lined spectroscopic binary, whose status as a potential supernova type Ia progenitor has raise…
Spectral analysis of the binary nucleus of the planetary nebula Hen 2-428 - first results
Nicolle L. Finch, Nicole Reindl, Martin A. Barstow +4
Identifying progenitor systems for the double-degenerate scenario is crucial to check the reliability of type Ia super-novae as cosmological standard candles. Santander-Garcia et a…
Revealing the True Nature of Hen 2-428
Nicole Reindl, Nicolle L. Finch, Veronika Schaffenroth +5
The nucleus of Hen 2-428 is a short orbital period (4.2 h) spectroscopic binary, whose status as potential supernovae type Ia progenitor has raised some controversy in the literatu…
The first sub-70 minute non-interacting WD-BD system: EPIC212235321
S. L. Casewell, I. P. Braker, S. G. Parsons +9
We present the discovery of the shortest-period, non-interacting, white dwarf-brown dwarf post-common-envelope binary known. The K2 light curve shows the system, EPIC 21223532 has…
