Parametric study on ion acceleration from the interaction of ultra-high intensity laser pulses with near-critical density gas targets
V. Ospina-Bohórquez, A. Debayle, J. J. Santos +2
We present a parametric study based on 1-D particle-in-cell (PIC) simulations conducted with the objective of understanding the interaction of intense lasers with near-critical non…
Guided Electromagnetic Discharge Pulses Driven by Short Intense Laser Pulses: Characterisation and Modelling
M. Ehret, M. Bailly-Grandvaux, Ph. Korneev +13
Strong electromagnetic pulses (EMP) are generated from intense laser interactions with solid-density targets, and can be guided by the target geometry, specifically through conduct…
Ablation Holes in Tape Targets Induced by Ultra-Intense Laser Pulses
Michael Ehret, Jon Imanol Apiñaniz, Jose Luis Henares +5
We present a theoretical modelling able to predict the dimensions of mm-sized through-holes produced in interactions of the 1 PW high-power 30fs Ti:Sa laser VEGA-3 with tape target…
Mode Control of Electro-Magnetic Pulses in the VHF Band
M. Ehret, L. Volpe, J. I. Apiñaniz +2
We present experimental results for the controlled mitigation of electromagnetic pulses (EMP) produced in interactions of the 1PW high-power 30fs Ti:Sa laser VEGA-3 with matter. Th…
