Neuromorphic Infrared Fibre-Optic Event-Based Sensing with Fast and Efficient Photonic-Electronic Spiking Neurons
Dylan Black, Giovanni Donati, Joshua Robertson +5
Current photonic technologies for remote sensing require the capture of large amounts of data, suffering as a result from high energy consumption, excessive data redundancy and sto…
Parallel Spatial Photonic Programming of Optoelectronic IGZO RRAM with a compact LED Array
Andrew Adair, Joshua Robertson, Andreas Tsiamis +6
Optoelectronic resistive random-access memory elements (ORRAM) are critical emerging devices that leverage photonic technologies to bring the advantages of optical programming to t…
Combined spatially and temporally multiplexed photonic reservoir computer with a diffractively coupled VCSEL-array
Joshua Robertson, Moritz Pfluger, Ingo Fischer +2
We report and analyse the classification performance of an experimental hybrid spatio-temporal photonic reservoir computer based upon a free-space VCSEL array. We demonstrate exper…
Neuron Surface Emitting Laser (NeuronSEL): Spiking Regimes and Negative Differential Resistance in Solitary Multi-junction VCSELs
Maria Duque-Gijon, Joshua Robertson, Dafydd Owen-Newns +6
Neuromorphic photonics is emerging as a powerful platform for fast and efficient optical information processing and sensing. However, future brain-inspired photonic systems require…
