Chandra Observations of Abell 2261 Brightest Cluster Galaxy, a Candidate Host to a Recoiling Black Hole
Kayhan Gultekin, Sarah Burke-Spolaor, Tod R. Lauer +4
We use Chandra X-ray observations to look for evidence of a recoiling black hole from the brightest cluster galaxy in Abell 2261 (A2261-BCG). A2261-BCG is a strong candidate for a…
A Distant Fast Radio Burst Associated to its Host Galaxy with the Very Large Array
C. J. Law, B. J. Butler, J. X. Prochaska +17
We present the discovery and subarcsecond localization of a new Fast Radio Burst with the Karl G. Jansky Very Large Array and realfast search system. The FRB was discovered on 2019…
Multi-Messenger Gravitational Wave Searches with Pulsar Timing Arrays: Application to 3C66B Using the NANOGrav 11-year Data Set
Zaven Arzoumanian, Paul T. Baker, Adam Brazier +56
When galaxies merge, the supermassive black holes in their centers may form binaries and, during the process of merger, emit low-frequency gravitational radiation in the process. I…
Electron Densities and Nitrogen Abundances in Ionized Gas Derived Using [NII] Fine-structure and Hydrogen Recombination lines
Jorge L. Pineda, Shinji Horiuchi, L. D. Anderson +7
We present a method for deriving the electron density of ionized gas using the ratio of the intensity of the [NII] 205um line to that of Hydrogen radio recombination lines (RRL). W…
