Learning and generalization of compositional representations of visual scenes
E. Paxon Frady, Spencer Kent, Quinn Tran +3
Complex visual scenes that are composed of multiple objects, each with attributes, such as object name, location, pose, color, etc., are challenging to describe in order to train n…
Vector Symbolic Architectures as a Computing Framework for Emerging Hardware
Denis Kleyko, Mike Davies, E. Paxon Frady +8
This article reviews recent progress in the development of the computing framework vector symbolic architectures (VSA) (also known as hyperdimensional computing). This framework is…
Resonator networks for factoring distributed representations of data structures
E. Paxon Frady, Spencer Kent, Bruno A. Olshausen +1
The ability to encode and manipulate data structures with distributed neural representations could qualitatively enhance the capabilities of traditional neural networks by supporti…
Resonator Networks outperform optimization methods at solving high-dimensional vector factorization
Spencer J. Kent, E. Paxon Frady, Friedrich T. Sommer +1
We develop theoretical foundations of Resonator Networks, a new type of recurrent neural network introduced in Frady et al. (2020) to solve a high-dimensional vector factorization…
