The Dynamic Proto-atmospheres around Low-Mass Planets with Eccentric Orbits
Chuhong Mai, Steven J. Desch, Rolf Kuiper +2
Protoplanets are able to accrete primordial atmospheres when embedded in the gaseous protoplanetary disk. The formation and structure of the proto-atmosphere are subject to the pla…
Exploring Exoplanet Cloud Assumptions in \textit{JWST} Transmission Spectra
Chuhong Mai, Michael R. Line
Clouds are ubiquitous in extrasolar planet atmospheres and are critical to our understanding of planetary climate and chemistry. They also represent one of the greater challenges t…
Magnetic Fields Recorded by Chondrules Formed in Nebular Shocks
Chuhong Mai, Steven J. Desch, Aaron C. Boley +1
Recent laboratory efforts (Fu et al., 2014) have constrained the remanent magnetizations of chondrules and the magnetic field strengths at which the chondrules were exposed to as t…
Planet Four: Probing Springtime Winds on Mars by Mapping the Southern Polar CO Jet Deposits
K. -Michael Aye, Megan E. Schwamb, Ganna Portyankina +11
The springtime sublimation process of Mars' southern seasonal polar CO ice cap features dark fan-shaped deposits appearing on the top of the thawing ice sheet. The fan material…
