Magnetorotational neutron star kicks
Ilya A. Kondratyev, Sergey G. Moiseenko, Gennady S. Bisnovatyi-Kogan
High velocity neutron stars, observed as rapidly moving radio-pulsars, are believed to gain high linear velocities -- kicks -- in aspherical supernova explosions. The mechanism of…
Free electron gas and electron-positron pair equilibrium in magnetic field
Gennady S. Bisnovatyi-Kogan, Ilya A. Kondratyev
The thermodynamic properties of electron gas under the extreme conditions of high temperature, high matter density, and/or a strong magnetic field largely determine the behaviour o…
Three-dimensional heat transfer effects in external layers of a magnetized neutron star
Ilya A. Kondratyev, Sergey G. Moiseenko, Gennady S. Bisnovatyi-Kogan +1
Determination of a magnetic field structure on a neutron star (NS) surface is an important problem of a modern astrophysics. In a presence of strong magnetic fields a thermal condu…
3D numerical study of an anisotropic heat transfer in outer layers of magnetized neutron stars
I. A. Kondratyev, S. G. Moiseenko, G. S. Bisnovatyi-Kogan +1
Periodic changes in a thermal soft X-ray flux of a rotating neutron star indicate a non-uniform distribution of the surface temperature. A possible cause of this phenomenon is a su…
