First results from a large-scale proper motion study of the Galactic Centre
B. Shahzamanian, R. Schödel, F. Nogueras-Lara +4
Proper motion studies of stars in the centre of the Milky Way have been typically limited to the Arches and Quintuplet clusters and to the central parsec. Here, we present the firs…
Early formation and recent starburst activity in the nuclear disc of the Milky Way
F. Nogueras-Lara, R. Schödel, A. T. Gallego-Calvente +10
The nuclear disc is a dense stellar structure at the centre of the Milky Way, with a radius of 150 pc. It has been a place of intense star formation in the past several tens…
Variability of the near-infrared extinction curve towards the Galactic centre
Francisco Nogueras-Lara, Rainer Schödel, Francisco Najarro +4
Due to the extreme extinction towards the Galactic centre ( mag), its stellar population is mainly studied in the near-infrared (NIR) regime. Therefore, a proper ana…
GALACTICNUCLEUS: A high-angular-resolution JHKs imaging survey of the Galactic centre II. First data release of the catalogue and the most detailed CMDs of the GC
Francisco Nogueras-Lara, Rainer Schödel, Aurelia Teresa Gallego-Calvente +7
The high extinction and extreme source crowding of the central regions of the Milky Way are serious obstacles to the study of the structure and stellar population of the Galactic c…
