A posteriori error estimates and space-adaptive mesh refinements for time-dependent scattering problems
Théophile Chaumont-Frelet, Heiko Gimperlein, Ignacio Labarca-Figueroa +1
This work studies a posteriori error estimates and their use for time-dependent acoustic scattering problems, formulated as a time-dependent boundary integral equation based on a s…
Adaptive time-domain boundary element methods for the wave equation with Neumann boundary conditions
Alessandra Aimi, Giulia Di Credico, Heiko Gimperlein +1
This article investigates adaptive mesh refinement procedures for the time-domain wave equation with Neumann boundary conditions, formulated as an equivalent hypersingular boundary…
Numerical analysis for constrained and unconstrained Q-tensor energies for liquid crystals
Heiko Gimperlein, Ruma R. Maity
This paper introduces a comprehensive finite element approximation framework for three-dimensional Landau-de Gennes -tensor energies for nematic liquid crystals, with a particul…
Bayesian Parameter Identification in the Landau-de Gennes Theory for Nematic Liquid Crystals
Heiko Gimperlein, Ruma R. Maity, Apala Majumdar +1
This manuscript establishes a pathway to reconstruct material parameters from measurements within the Landau-de Gennes model for nematic liquid crystals. We present a Bayesian appr…
