LIGO Detector Characterization in the Second and Third Observing Runs
D. Davis, J. S. Areeda, B. K. Berger +284
The characterization of the Advanced LIGO detectors in the second and third observing runs has increased the sensitivity of the instruments, allowing for a higher number of detecta…
Environmental Noise in Advanced LIGO Detectors
P. Nguyen, R. M. S. Schofield, A. Effler +215
The sensitivity of the Advanced LIGO detectors to gravitational waves can be affected by environmental disturbances external to the detectors themselves. Since the transition from…
Sensitivity and Performance of the Advanced LIGO Detectors in the Third Observing Run
LIGO Instrument Science List, :, A. Buikema +197
On April 1st, 2019, the Advanced Laser Interferometer Gravitational-Wave Observatory (aLIGO), joined by the Advanced Virgo detector, began the third observing run, a year-long dedi…
Reducing Scattered Light in LIGO's Third Observing Run
S Soni, C Austin, A Effler +195
Noise due to scattered light has been a frequent disturbance in the Advanced LIGO gravitational wave detectors, hindering the detection of gravitational waves. The non stationary s…
