Bright X-ray radiation from plasma bubbles in an evolving laser wakefield accelerator
M. S. Bloom, M. J. V. Streeter, S. Kneip +17
We show that the properties of the electron beam and bright x-rays produced by a laser wakefield accelerator can be predicted if the distance over which the laser self-focuses and…
Observation of Laser Power Amplification in a Self-Injecting Laser Wakefield Accelerator
M. J. V. Streeter, S. Kneip, M. S. Bloom +17
We report on the depletion and power amplification of the driving laser pulse in a strongly-driven laser wakefield accelerator. Simultaneous measurement of the transmitted pulse en…
AWAKE readiness for the study of the seeded self-modulation of a 400\,GeV proton bunch
P. Muggli, E. Adli, R. Apsimon +104
AWAKE is a proton-driven plasma wakefield acceleration experiment. % We show that the experimental setup briefly described here is ready for systematic study of the seeded self-mod…
Laser-driven plasma acceleration in a regime of strong-mismatch between the incident laser envelope and the nonlinear plasma response
A. A. Sahai, K. Poder, J. C. Wood +4
We explore a regime of laser-driven plasma acceleration of electrons where the radial envelope of the laser-pulse incident at the plasma entrance is strongly mismatched to the nonl…
