Searching for the Intra-Group Medium in Loose Groups of Galaxies
D. J. Pisano, Bart Wakker, Eric Wilcots +1
We have conducted a study with the VLA, DRAO Synthesis Telscope, and the FUSE satellite to search for the intra-group medium in two loose groups of galaxies: GH 144 and GH 158. No…
Origins of the Highly Ionized Gas along the Line of Sight towards HD 116852
Andrew J. Fox, Blair D. Savage, Kenneth R. Sembach +5
We present Hubble Space Telescope Imaging Spectrograph (HST/STIS) and Far Ultraviolet Spectroscopic Explorer (FUSE) observations of high ion interstellar absorption along the sight…
FUSE Observations of O VI Overlying the Scutum Supershell
N. C. Sterling, B. D. Savage, P. Richter +2
We present Far Ultraviolet Spectroscopic Explorer observations of the B0 III star HD 177989 ( = 4.9 kpc). This line of sight passes through t…
Abundances and Physical Conditions in the Warm Neutral Medium Towards mu Columbae
J. Christopher Howk, Blair D. Savage, Dirk Fabian
We present ultraviolet interstellar absorption line measurements for the sightline towards the O9.5 V star mu Columbae obtained with the Goddard High Resolution Spectrograph (GHRS)…
