Demonstration of a compact plasma accelerator powered by laser-accelerated electron beams
T. Kurz, T. Heinemann, M. F. Gilljohann +22
Plasma wakefield accelerators are capable of sustaining gigavolt-per-centimeter accelerating fields, surpassing the electric breakdown threshold in state-of-the-art accelerator mod…
Probing Ultrafast Magnetic-Field Generation by Current Filamentation Instability in Femtosecond Relativistic Laser-Matter Interactions
G. Raj, O. Kononenko, A. Doche +28
We present experimental measurements of the femtosecond time-scale generation of strong magnetic-field fluctuations during the interaction of ultrashort, moderately relativistic la…
Restoring betatron phase coherence in a beam-loaded laser-wakefield accelerator
A. Köhler, R. Pausch, M. Bussmann +7
Matched beam loading in laser wakefield acceleration (LWFA), characterizing the state of flattening of the acceleration electric field along the bunch, leads to the minimization of…
Hybrid LWFA PWFA Staging as a Beam Energy and Brightness Transformer : Conceptual Design and Simulations
A. Martinez de la Ossa, R. W. Aßmann, R. Bussmann +16
We present a conceptual design for a hybrid laser-to-beam-driven plasma wakefield accelerator. In this setup, the output beams from a laser-driven plasma wakefield accelerator (LWF…
