3D-M3: High-spatial resolution spectroscopy with extreme AO and 3D printed micro-lenslets
Theodoros Anagnos, Mareike Trappen, Blaise C. Kuo Tiong +20
By combining IFS with ExAO we are now able to resolve objects close to the diffraction-limit of large telescopes, exploring new science cases. We introduce an IFU designed to coupl…
Diffraction-limited integral-field spectroscopy for extreme adaptive optics systems with the Multi-Core fiber-fed Integral-Field Unit
Sebastiaan Y. Haffert, Robert J. Harris, Alessio Zanutta +31
Direct imaging instruments have the spatial resolution to resolve exoplanets from their host star. This enables direct characterization of the exoplanets atmosphere, but most direc…
Multicore fibre photonic lanterns for precision radial velocity science
Itandehui Gris-Sánchez, Dionne M. Haynes, Katjana Ehrlich +2
Envisioning more compact and cost accessible astronomical instruments is now possible with existing photonic technologies like specialty optical fibres, photonic lanterns and ultra…
Efficient photonic reformatting of celestial light for diffraction-limited spectroscopy
David G. MacLachlan, Robert J. Harris, Itandehui Gris-Sánchez +9
The spectral resolution of a dispersive astronomical spectrograph is limited by the trade-off between throughput and the width of the entrance slit. Photonic guided-wave transition…
