WALLABY: an untargeted search for H I-bearing ultra-diffuse galaxies uncovers the first known ultra-diffuse galaxy pair
T. O'Beirne, V. A. Kilborn, M. E. Cluver +14
Using the Widefield ASKAP L-band Legacy All-sky Blind surveY (WALLABY) we performed an untargeted search for H I-bearing ultra-diffuse galaxies (UDGs). We identified a core sample…
WALLABY Pilot Survey: Characterizing Low Rotation Kinematically Modelled Galaxies
N. Deg, K. Spekkens, N. Arora +20
Many of the tensions in cosmological models of the Universe lie in the low mass, low velocity regime. Probing this regime requires a statistically significant sample of galaxies wi…
The Polarisation Sky Survey of the Universe's Magnetism (POSSUM): Science Goals and Survey Description
B. M. Gaensler, G. H. Heald, N. M. McClure-Griffiths +57
The Australian SKA Pathfinder (ASKAP) offers powerful new capabilities for studying the polarised and magnetised Universe at radio wavelengths. In this paper, we introduce the Pola…
WALLABY pilot survey: properties of HI-selected dark sources and low surface brightness galaxies
T. O'Beirne, L. Staveley-Smith, V. A. Kilborn +13
We examine the optical counterparts of the 1829 neutral hydrogen (HI) detections in three pilot fields in the Widefield ASKAP L-band Legacy All-sky Blind surveY (WALLABY) using dat…
