The Fornax 3D project: Non-linear colour-metallicity relation of globular clusters
K. Fahrion, M. Lyubenova, M. Hilker +15
Globular cluster (GC) systems of massive galaxies often show a bimodal colour distribution. This has been interpreted as a metallicity bimodality, created by a two-stage galaxy for…
The Fornax 3D project: Globular clusters tracing kinematics and metallicities
K. Fahrion, M. Lyubenova, M. Hilker +15
Globular clusters (GCs) are found ubiquitously in massive galaxies and due to their old ages, they are regarded as fossil records of galaxy evolution. Spectroscopic studies of GC s…
The Tucana dwarf spheroidal galaxy: not such a massive failure after all
S. Taibi, G. Battaglia, M. Rejkuba +5
Isolated Local Group (LG) dwarf galaxies have evolved most or all of their life unaffected by interactions with the large LG spirals and therefore offer the opportunity to learn ab…
Kinematic and metallicity properties od the Aquarius dwarf galaxy from FORS2 MXU spectroscopy
L. Hermosa Muñoz, S. Taibi, G. Battaglia +10
Dwarf galaxies found in isolation in the Local Group (LG) are unlikely to have interacted with the large LG spirals, and therefore environmental effects should not be the main driv…
