Causal Explanations for Sequential Decision Making Under Uncertainty
Samer B. Nashed, Saaduddin Mahmud, Claudia V. Goldman +1
We introduce a novel framework for causal explanations of stochastic, sequential decision-making systems built on the well-studied structural causal model paradigm for causal reaso…
Communication-Based Decomposition Mechanisms for Decentralized MDPs
Claudia V. Goldman, Shlomo Zilberstein
Multi-agent planning in stochastic environments can be framed formally as a decentralized Markov decision problem. Many real-life distributed problems that arise in manufacturing,…
Decentralized Control of Cooperative Systems: Categorization and Complexity Analysis
C. V. Goldman, S. Zilberstein
Decentralized control of cooperative systems captures the operation of a group of decision makers that share a single global objective. The difficulty in solving optimally such pro…
NetNeg: A Connectionist-Agent Integrated System for Representing Musical Knowledge
Claudia V. Goldman, Dan Gang, Jeffrey S. Rosenschein +1
The system presented here shows the feasibility of modeling the knowledge involved in a complex musical activity by integrating sub-symbolic and symbolic processes. This research f…
