Spectral study of starforming rings in S0 galaxies of Dorado group -- NGC 1533 and NGC 1543
Irina S. Proshina, Olga K. Sil'chenko, Alexei Yu. Kniazev
We have fulfilled a detailed long-slit spectroscopic analysis for two SB0 galaxies -- NGC 1533 and NGC 1543, -- belonging to the Dorado group. Our spectral data reveal asymmetric d…
Young Star-Forming Complexes in the Ring of the S0 galaxy NGC 4324
I. S. Proshina, A. V. Moiseev, O. K. Sil'chenko
We present the results of our study of starforming regions in the lenticular galaxy NGC 4324. During a complex analysis of multiwavelength observational data -- the narrow-band emi…
Star formation in outer rings of S0 galaxies. II. NGC 4513 -- a multi-spin ringed S0 galaxy
I. Proshina, O. Sil'chenko, A. Moiseev
Though S0 galaxies are usually thought to be `red and dead', they demonstrate often star formation organized in ring structures. We try to clarify the nature of this phenomenon and…
Star-forming rings in lenticular galaxies: origin of the gas
Irina S. Proshina, Alexei Yu. Kniazev, Olga K. Sil'chenko
Rings in S0s are enigmatic features which can however betray the evolutionary paths of particular galaxies. We have undertaken long-slit spectroscopy of five lenticular galaxies wi…
