NGC 4936: abundant multi-phase medium in the central weak X-ray cool core and optically dark H I clouds in the group
Prathamesh Tamhane, Ming Sun, Hao Chen +6
We present a multiwavelength analysis of NGC 4936, the central galaxy of a weak cool-core group hosting an unusually large cold/warm gas reservoir. NGC 4936 contains $\sim2\times10…
"Beads on a String" Star Formation Tied to one of the most Powerful AGN Outbursts Observed in a Cool Core Galaxy Cluster
Osase Omoruyi, Grant R. Tremblay, Francoise Combes +19
With two central galaxies engaged in a major merger and a remarkable chain of 19 young stellar superclusters wound around them in projection, the galaxy cluster SDSS J1531+3414 ($z…
The Close AGN Reference Survey (CARS). A massive multi-phase outflow impacting the edge-on galaxy HE1353-1917
B. Husemann, J. Scharwächter, T. A. Davis +15
[Abridged] We combine extensive spatially-resolved multi-wavelength observations, taken as part of the Close AGN Reference Survey (CARS), for the edge-on disc galaxy HE1353-1917 to…
Powerful AGN jets and unbalanced cooling in the hot atmosphere of IC 4296
R. Grossová, N. Werner, K. Rajpurohit +13
We present new Karl G. Jansky Very Large Array (VLA, 1.5 GHz) radio data for the giant elliptical galaxy IC 4296, supported by archival radio, X-ray (Chandra, XMM-Newton) and optic…
