NEPv Approach for Optimization on Stiefel Manifold with the -norm Regularization
Ren-Cang Li, Li Wang, Lei-Hong Zhang +1
Row-sparse projection provides a useful tool in machine learning (ML) when it comes to, for example, feature selection, aiming to choose most relevant features for various ML objec…
Convergence Analysis of Two Alternating Iterative Schemes for Tucker Decomposition
Ren-Cang Li, Li Wang, Mei Yang
The higher-order orthogonal iteration (HOOI) and the alternating subspace iteration (ASI) are two popular numerical methods for computing the Tucker decomposition of a multiple-mod…
An NPDo Approach for Tensor Block-Diagonalization
Ren-Cang Li, Li Wang, Mei Yang
This paper is concerned with Partial Tensor Block-Diagonalization of a multiway tensor by orthonormal matrices so that the extracted block-diagonal part optimally represents the te…
An NPDo Approach for Principal Joint SVD-type Block Diagonalization
Ren-Cang Li, Li Wang, Mei Yang
This paper is concerned with partial Joint SVD-type Block Diagonalization of several matrices so that the extracted diagonal parts collectively optimally assume part of the total m…
An NPDo Approach for Principal Joint Block Diagonalization
Ren-Cang Li, Ding Lu, Li Wang +1
Matrix joint block-diagonalization (JBD) frequently arises from diverse applications such as independent component analysis, blind source separation, and common principal component…
