Statistical properties of time-reversible triangular maps of the square
Vasileios Basios, Gian Luigi Forti, Thomas Gilbert
Time reversal symmetric triangular maps of the unit square are introduced with the property that the time evolution of one of their two variables is determined by a piecewise expan…
On the derivation of Fourier's law in stochastic energy exchange systems
Pierre Gaspard, Thomas Gilbert
We present a detailed derivation of Fourier's law in a class of stochastic energy exchange systems that naturally characterize two-dimensional mechanical systems of locally confine…
Heat conductivity from molecular chaos hypothesis in locally confined billiard systems
Thomas Gilbert, Raphael Lefevere
We study the transport properties of a large class of locally confined Hamiltonian systems, in which neighboring particles interact through hard core elastic collisions. When these…
Heat conduction and Fourier's law in a class of many particle dispersing billiards
Pierre Gaspard, Thomas Gilbert
We consider the motion of many confined billiard balls in interaction and discuss their transport and chaotic properties. In spite of the absence of mass transport, due to confinem…
