Nearly all Massive Quiescent Disk Galaxies have a Surprisingly Large Atomic Gas Reservoir
Chengpeng Zhang, Yingjie Peng, Luis C. Ho +11
The massive galaxy population above the characteristic Schechter mass M*~10^10.6 Msun contributes to about half of the total stellar mass in the local Universe. These massive galax…
The Fundamental Relation between Halo Mass and Galaxy Group Properties
Zhong-yi Man, Ying-jie Peng, Jing-jing Shi +4
We explore the interrelationships between the galaxy group halo mass and various observable group properties. We propose a simple scenario that describes the evolution of the centr…
The Dependence of AGN Activity on Environment in SDSS
Zhong-yi Man, Ying-jie Peng, Xu Kong +3
Environment is one of the key external drivers of the galaxies, while active galactic nucleus (AGN) is one of the key internal drivers. Both of them play fundamental roles in regul…
SDSS-IV MaNGA: The Roles of AGNs and Dynamical Processes in Star Formation Quenching in Nearby Disk Galaxies
Kexin Guo, Yingjie Peng, Li Shao +7
We study how star formation (SF) is quenched in low-redshift disk galaxies with integral-field spectroscopy. We select 131 face-on spiral galaxies with stellar mass greater than $\…
