Cavity solitons in vertical-cavity surface-emitting lasers
A. G. Vladimirov, A. Pimenov, S. V. Gurevich +3
We investigate a control of the motion of localized structures of light by means of delay feedback in the transverse section of a broad area nonlinear optical system. The delayed f…
Introduction: Localized Structures in Dissipative Media: From Optics to Plant Ecology
M. Tlidi, K. Staliunas, K. Panajotov +2
Localised structures in dissipative appears in various fields of natural science such as biology, chemistry, plant ecology, optics and laser physics. The proposed theme issue is to…
Deterministic polarization chaos from a laser diode
Martin Virte, Krassimir Panajotov, Hugo Thienpont +1
Fifty years after the invention of the laser diode and fourty years after the report of the butterfly effect - i.e. the unpredictability of deterministic chaos, it is said that a l…
Physical random bit generation from chaotic solitary laser diode
Martin Virte, Emeric Mercier, Hugo Thienpont +2
We demonstrate the physical generation of random bits at high bit rates (> 100 Gb/s) using optical chaos from a solitary laser diode and therefore without the complex addition of e…
