Optimizations on Graph-Level for Domain Specific Computations in Julia and Application to QED
Anton Reinhard, Simeon Ehrig, René Widera +2
Complex computational problems in science often consist of smaller parts that can have largely distinct compute requirements from one another. For optimal efficiency, analyzing eac…
Radiative Signatures of Magnetic Reconnection: An Approach to Remote Probing of Reconnection Dynamics
Sergey K. Ermakov, Michael Bussmann, Alexander Debus +4
Magnetic reconnection drives a wide range of astrophysical phenomena, including geomagnetic storms, solar flares, and activity in blazars. However, direct measurement of key reconn…
A Parallel and Highly-Portable HPC Poisson Solver: Preconditioned Bi-CGSTAB with alpaka
Luca Pennati, Måns I. Andersson, Klaus Steiniger +4
This paper presents the design, implementation, and performance analysis of a parallel and GPU-accelerated Poisson solver based on the Preconditioned Bi-Conjugate Gradient Stabiliz…
The Artificial Scientist -- in-transit Machine Learning of Plasma Simulations
Jeffrey Kelling, Vicente Bolea, Michael Bussmann +19
Increasing HPC cluster sizes and large-scale simulations that produce petabytes of data per run, create massive IO and storage challenges for analysis. Deep learning-based techniqu…
