The Comptonising medium of the neutron star in 4U 1636-53 through its lower kilohertz Quasi-Periodic Oscillations
Konstantinos Karpouzas, Mariano Méndez, Evandro M. Ribeiro +3
Inverse Compton scattering dominates the high energy part of the spectra of neutron star (NS) low mass X-ray binaries (LMXBs). It has been proposed that inverse Compton scattering…
The amplitude of the kilohertz quasi-periodic oscillations in 4U 163653 in the frequency-energy space
Evandro M. Ribeiro, Mariano Méndez, Marcio G. B. de Avellar +2
We present for the neutron-star low-mass X-ray binary 4U 163653, and for the first time for any source of kilohertz quasi-periodic oscillations (kHz QPOs), the two-dimensional b…
Study of the X-ray properties of the neutron-star binary 4U 172834 from the soft to hard state
Yanan Wang, Mariano Méndez, Diego Altamirano +7
We studied five XMM-Newton observations of the neutron-star binary 4U 172834 covering the hard, intermediate and soft spectral states. By jointly fitting the spectra with severa…
Stingray: A Modern Python Library For Spectral Timing
D. Huppenkothen, M. Bachetti, A. L. Stevens +9
This paper describes the design and implementation of Stingray, a library in Python built to perform time series analysis and related tasks on astronomical light curves. Its core f…
