Tunable coupled-mode dispersion compensation and its application to on-chip resonant four-wave mixing
Cale M. Gentry, Xiaoge Zeng, Milos A. Popovic
We propose and demonstrate localized mode coupling as a viable dispersion engineering technique for phase-matched resonant four-wave mixing (FWM). We demonstrate a dual-cavity reso…
Photonic Crystal Microcavities in a Microelectronics 45nm SOI CMOS Technology
Christopher V. Poulton, Xiaoge Zeng, Mark T. Wade +3
We demonstrate the first monolithically integrated linear photonic crystal microcavities in an advanced SOI CMOS microelectronics process (IBM 45nm 12SOI) with no in-foundry proces…
Dark state lasers
Cale M. Gentry, Milos A. Popovic
We propose a new type of laser resonator based on imaginary "energy-level splitting" (imaginary coupling, or quality factor Q splitting) in a pair of coupled microcavities. A parti…
High-Q Contacted Ring Microcavities with Scatterer-Avoiding "Wiggler" Bloch Wave Supermode Fields
Yangyang Liu, Miloš A. Popović
High-Q ring resonators with contacts to the waveguide core provide a versatile platform for various applications in chip-scale optomechanics, thermo- and electro-optics. We propose…
